The Mission

As Isaiah 55 closes, the scripture says,

Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow.
Where briers grew, myrtles will sprout up.
These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name;
they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.

The heart of God is to bring all of creation into His kingdom, offering forgiveness and unconditional love, through Christ's mercy and grace. Christ Central - Serving Meals Ministry is an all volunteer effort seeking to fulfill God’s desire in this community. The promise given in Isaiah 55 is to provide free of charge, food that satisfies the soul. This ministry committs to see that promise take root, grow and prosper.

Meals provided each week meet the basic need for hot food. More importantly, relationships are built and doors are opened to share the love of Christ and the hope found in eternal salvation. The scripture promises, "Your soul will delight in the richest of fare."

Serving Meals Ministry is not affiliated with any church or denomination. In fact, it’s not even about religion. It’s about building relationships that exhibit the biblical demand for Christian unity.

Hello Serving Meals Ministers! As usual last Saturday, June 4th, was an amazing and HOT day out in Riverview. Here are our prayer requests from our friends and a write up of the day from Lisa. Thank you for all loving Jesus in this way! See you next month, July 2! We went backwards so we could pick up the little girls who wanted to go around with us last month. When we got to their house the girls were sleeping. However, a gentleman at the house was awake and took food and batteries for the family. We spoke to a sweet man at the house for a while. One of the family's sister or Aunt – I can not remember how they were related - was not home but when I walked up her steps they were teeny tiny and unsafe. On a side note - Is there anyone or anyway we could get those steps fixed for her. I could purchase the materials but do not have the skills to redo them. I can use a hammer though so I could offer my assistance. I didn’t know if there is anything available in our church for that. As the day continued, we did not get to see a friend because he was at his Aunt's house celebrating her 96th birthday. I had made him a little birthday cake and we left it for him. On the end of the route, we had 12 hot dogs left so we were going to drive down Fritts but ended up coming back to the road in front on Riverview. There were two gentlemen sitting on the porch so we pulled up and the gentleman that owned the home came out. We asked him if he would like a hot meal and he told us that he was ok but his friend has been laid off and is hurting pretty bad. We loaded a bunch of food and took it around to him. He was very pleased and said there are a lot of hurting people on his street. We told him that we would add them to our route. The gentleman who owned the home said that he watches out for him, and told us that they were just talking about if there were still good people in the world that cared. They said we were an answer to their prayer. They both believe in Jesus and what he did for us. They then offered to pray with all of us. It was so AWESOME!

A gentleman requested prayers for his brother and cousin who are both terminally ill. Multiple women requested prayers for their families. A grandmother asked for prayers for her nephew who is only 44 years old and had cancer surgery and her grandson who is in the military. Let’s all pray for a young woman whose uncle passed away recently. A woman who has a trach asked that we pray for everyone. Pray that a man whose house has termites continues to heal from an auto accident. A man asked that we pray for his son whose porch burned down. Luckily he was not hurt, but he does not have insurance. Pray that a young man whose stitches are infected heals quickly. A woman asked for payers for her husband that he find a new job as a police officer. Lastly, a granddaughter asked for prayers for her grandfather who is ill.

We had so much fun Saturday, thank you to all the cooks servers and continued support from Breadsmith.

See you next month July 18 at Riverview. More details to follow on that.

Serving Report Paradise

Eternal Church served in Paradise on Saturday, 5/21. It was a wonderful day to share the love of Christ with our neighbors! We met at 2:30 with our amazing chef, blessing the food, chicken penne pasta with oatmeal cookies and the best bread in Fort Mill donated by Breadsmith, and praising God for all He prepared for us to walk in on Saturday. We had two new servers and within minutes they were pros, truly compelled by the Spirit to be the hands and feet of Christ! Though the heat kept many inside, we served over 75 plates, with the most servings at Steele Street Apartments and Anderson Street. On Anderson St. a young mother asked for prayers for the Wright and Massey families. We also stopped at the park where many youth were gathered. They were most interested in the cookies, which we had plenty to share. A young lady driving by stopped and asked if she and her family could get plates. She sang the praises of a Serving Meals Ministry board member, Mr. Omar Potts, who led her back to Christ. Mr. Potts, Shevon says, “Hello and thank you for reminding her of what Christ did to save us from our sins.” We encouraged everyone to come out to the park on Saturday, June 18th, as Serving Meals celebrates 4 years of blessing and being blessed by the amazing Paradise community! Mr. Vincent Brown Sr. said he’s ready and willing to man the grill on the 18th! We also reminded children to come out for Empowering Youth Today summer camp, many have already committed! The time was precious, but always too short! We all look forward to going out again soon to profess what the Lord has done and continues to do in our midst! All glory and honor to Him!

Blessings, Wendy
